Gryffindor Scarf

Image
And finally, here's the Gryffindor scarf. I don't have a picture for this one, but go look at the picture for the Hufflepuff scarf if you want to get an idea of what this will look like. This is the one I haven't made an example of. Try to get the gauge to be about 4 rows per inch, but you can adjust the pattern to fit pretty much any yarn and needles. The scarf is worked in garter stitch, with plenty of nice loose ends from the color work for you to weave in when you finish, so you'll need a tapestry needle for both that and the fringe. In the picture, you work left to right on the right side, which you start on. Each square represents two stitches on the right side, and the wrong side is just the same thing in reverse. When you finish the pattern, work the stripes for however long you want by knitting six rows of scarlet, six rows of gold, and repeating. Start with scarlet immediately after the pattern and end with scarlet. Do the fringe after blocking. Cut 50 o...

Slytherin Scarf

Here's the Slytherin Scarf! I don't have a picture for this one, but go look at the picture for the Hufflepuff scarf if you want to get an idea of what this will look like. Again, for this, I used US size 5 (or 3.75mm) needles and Red Heart yarn (I can't remember exactly which ones), but you can use whatever needles and yarn you want, though you might need to adjust the pattern somewhat. When you finish the pattern, work the stripes for however long you want by knitting six rows of green, six rows of silver, and repeating. Start with green immediately after the pattern and end with green. Do the...

Ravenclaw Scarf

Here's the Ravenclaw version of the Hufflepuff scarf I just published. I don't have a picture for this one, but go look at the picture for the Hufflepuff scarf if you want to get an idea of what this will look like. For this, I used US size 5 (or 3.75mm) needles and Red Heart yarn (I can't remember exactly which ones), but you can use whatever needles and yarn you want, though you might need to adjust the pattern somewhat. In the picture, you work left to right on the right side, which you start on. Each square represents two stitches on the right side, and the wrong side is just the same thing in reverse. When you finish the pattern, work the stripes for however long you want by knitting six rows of blue, six rows of bronze, and repeating. Start with blue immediately after ...

Hufflepuff Scarf

Image
Just because this is my first post, I'm going to do a little background. I've been knitting and crocheting for years, but sometimes I can't find the right pattern for what I'm trying to do, so I have to make one up. It's kind of a pain, so I've decided to post my patterns so that other people don't have to spend the time I did trying to figure out how to make what I wanted. I'm going to start with one of the first patterns I came up with. Eventually I'm going to post a patterns for all the house scarves, but I am a proud Hufflepuff, so I'll be starting with that. For this, I used US size 7 (or 4.5mm) needles and Red Heart yarn (I can't remember exactly which ones), but you can use whatever needles and yarn you want, though you might need to adjust the pattern somewhat. The scarf is worked in garter stitch, with plenty of nice loose ends from the color work for you to weave in when you finish, so you'll need a tapestry needle for b...
